I was wondering what everyones opinions and experiences are with screened cage like those reptariums?(spelled wrong im sure). I was thought they wouldnt be good because they would hold the heat or hummidity at all.. I have heard some people say thats not the case though..

depends on what your keeping i guess, i have used them for differnt snakes, with addition to a cage lock, without problems. with frogs or something that needs a high humidity it would be a different story i guess, but as long as you would mist daily im sure that would be fine. what exactly are you wanting to use it with ?

Just my opinion here:
Hate them....with a passion. LOL Sorry Justin.
Not sure if I would use them with MHD.....probably won't be good with the humidity issues.

In my apartment it is always on average 70 percent humidity. I hear about the humidity problems some people have. But with that humidity level I should be ok right? Because I was considering a screen type cage also. Although heat might be an issue.

One of the major issues with screen cages and snakes is nose rubs.....doesn't happen with all of them, but quite a few.....definitely something to watch out for if you are going to try it.

I hear people say they work great for chams and I know they require strict temps and hummidity..

That is true. Though I believe the main reason behind that is Chameleons get stressed when they see other Chameleons (reflection in the glass of the tanks) and they do much better in an open air habitat....hard to say man, if nothing else you can always give it try you may be able to make it work for you, I just personally don't like them.

I defently wouldnt use them for a snake, but thought my MHD would like it..

Well I'm of the mind-set, that (with some exceptions of course) but in general if you can setup a cage with the proper heat and humidity constants....it should work, you really never know until you try it though.....like I said I was just stating my personal opinion on them. But if you can make it work and you like it....well that's all that really matters.

I used a reptarium for a veiled cham...it worked great!! You could easily take it outside on nice days. That being said I wouldn't use it for many other things. And I'll probably never get another one.

Hmm.... I decided to talk to someone on a different forum that is a MHD breeder and freak lol. She said these work good for MHDs, to help with hold heat/hummidity you can put plastic around the back and sides.. Still deciding though..

Well man, you'll never know if you like it until you try it....you can always use it for chameleon later on if you don't want to use it with MHD.
