Today i accidently closed the cooler, in which my burmese python soaks in,on her tail. Its not even close to her vent, its about 3inches from the end of her tail, anyways it broke some scales and now i can see her skin.My question is do y ou guys think it would just heal on its own or should i take her to the vet?

I think just putting some polysporin on it and keeping it dry should heal it up fairly well, but you may want to wait for Bebo or others to chime in and see what their recommendations are.

If the tail doesnt look broken or kinked then just clean it good with diluted porixide and put neosporin on it. If it is kinked or broken a trip to the vet may be a good idea.

I spaced and forgot to put the vet part in my reply!

Good stuff fella's. Just to know exactly what the severity of the situation is, the vet visit is necessary. If your sure it's just superficial and just a flesh would you should be fine. And even if it was broken, it would most likely heal on its own with little fanfare. :)

Well i looked around and i cant find the exact burn cream youre talking about.I did find some triple antibiotic and some regular burn cream to treat scrapes and minor burns. Will this do the trick?how often do you guys recommend i put in on?

I'd use the triple Antibiotic....that's what use for all my snakes.
