I was wondering what everyones experiences with cal kings are?.. I have never had or seen a nice one lol. I had a striped albino cal years back, gorgous snake but man did she hate me lol. I also held many cal kings and they all like to bite lol. But everytime a post or something about someone wanting to get a cal king comes up and I say that they are generally more nippy then corns, a bunch of people say thats not true and they have ones as nice as corns lol.. I actually have a cal king coming next week, maybe this one will actually be nice lol..

I've had a cal king for the past 2 months now and it has not once tried to bite. It's a little flighty but otherwise a good-natured animal.

My Cal King, Nigel, was a little shit for the first two years. He never bit me, but he musked and struck at me with a closed mouth all the time. I got to the point that whenever I held him I would put a paper towel under him so when he finished musking me I could just throw that away. LOL. Now days he's a pleasure. He doesn't strike or musk anymore. He's calm when I hold him. And he's always cruising around his cage. He's the only snake I have in the living room, because he's such a great display snake. I wouldn't trade him for the world. :)

I have handled some wicken little Cal Kings and then some as sweet as pie. It honestly could be just you. What I mean by that is the vibe you may be giving off of fear. :noidea:

I dont have any fear of them, heck I just pick them up and let them bite me if they want lol. I have been bitten so many times it doesent faze me lol. I just thought it was wierd how everyone says how nice theres are and mine were devils lol..

Not that they really can't see, but there is strong evidence that they are more sensitive to bright light.
