Late last night, I discovered my baby boa had escaped sometime in the last day. I looked basically all night, without success.
She's never done this before, and doesn't show an inclination to wander.
She was nowhere near her cage, or in any hiding spots or warm spots.
My house is warm (80*F), but dry (20%). I will buy a humidifier after work today, but I'm still worried. The floors are cooler, and I recently had one of my Malaysians escape and die of dehydration. :(
Do boas tend to hide in any type of place, or are all snakes the same in that respect?
I'd really appreciate any suggestions (and prayers).
Thanks

Do hope you find it.
There have been a few threads on here about finding lost snakes, you can try setting up some box hides with F/T prey underneath them see if you luck out.
But basically you'll be wanting check in any dark, small spaces.....it really can be luck of the draw in finding them.

I would check in places you wouldnt! I had my baby Boa get lost for 3 weeks and my PC Finally broke down. We were gonna throw away the Computer part(Not the Monitor) So we were gonna throw it away and found her curled up in there. Took us a bit to take it apart to get her out. Do hope you find her! I would try what Brad said though.

dude, this sounds stupid, but when i was looking for my boa, i laid down on the ground on my stomach, and looked around to see if i could find any sweet hiding spots that i would hide in if i was a snake, i found him underneath a pile of towels a few months later, i dunno, just look everywhere, and often, because it could be anywhere and it could move around before you noticed, also i heard someone say to just turn on the lights in the middle of the night, because snakes ar more active at nights or something, and hopefully you'll see it just slithering in the middle of the room

Well, I'm breathing easier since I found her last night (no doubt she is too).
I'd previously looked behind the shelf I keep her cage on, so she must have been wandering, and fell behind it. She was right against an outside wall, so her skin temp was 54*F.
I warmed her up over the next few hours (slowly), and she seems to be okay, though a bit hissy.
Thanks for the advice, and hopefully I won't have to ask again!! :)

Good to hear! Now maybe you should concentrate on a different escape proof cage so it doesnt happen again.
I had a bull snake get out on my years ago and ended up catching it MONTH's later when my wife noticed it coming out from under the fridge. LOL!

Glad you found your snake. I lost mine once and don't count on cats to find it. I have three cats and they were all shaking in their boots..... My big male cat was hiding in the damn litter box.... LMAO. That was when Willie was maybe 30 inches long. But he could hiss up a storm.....
