I've had a subscription for them for 7 or 8 months now. I've got kind of "snake prejudice" though with it. I wish I could find a "snake" magazine. Snakes are only a small part of the magazine sometimes. Although the last one I got had the most amazing Green Tree Python pictures. Just got the link up - I paid too much too!

I think the magazine has actually gotten better. I'm a snake guy but I love reading anything herp related and the quality of the articles has gotten better.

Agreed. I have a subscription, too, but I really wish there was more snake stuff in it. I like lizards and stuff (and one issue even showed some tiny chameleons that were about 1 inch long--they were itty-bitty and so cute! I wanted one!) but the snake stuff is so few and far between. They tend to focus on the not-so-kept snake species, which can be good because it promotes those animals, but they should also do public-interest pieces on the most popular ones, too, like bp's, burms, common boas, etc., in my opinion at least. ;)

IMO focusing on less common animals is what makes some of the articles much better to me. There is only so much one can learn about the popular animals and usually these are the animals that are simple to keep anyways. So I vote for more articles on the more obscure herps, including but not limited to snakes.

I agree on the learning about a new or less kept species. But what I mean is, each month I think they should focus on (for an example) burmese pythons, give a short introduction on them (since most people know a lot about them anyway) but then add some new discoveries about them or updates on the morphs. Things like that. The article wouldn't even have to be very long, just more of an update on what's going on with that species. Since they are popular, people would enjoy finding out what's new with them, in my opinion at least. ;) I'm not saying they shouldn't do articles on the less kept ones; I enjoy reading some of those myself. But I would just like to see some more things pertaining to the general public interest as well.
