okay, ive been looking into a different source of heat for our chameleon, because his cage temp drops too low sometimes when the air conditioners on, it wasnt that big of a deal, but now its getting hot out and the a.c. is on more often, so we need to get more heat in there for him, would heat cable be okay for him to walk on? or be very close to also, and if so, what wattage should i use, like, it doesnt need to be a lot of heat, just a little, i was thinking just the 15 watt kind, but wanted some input before i went for it, because im not seeming to find a whole lot of info about the safety of it, i just know its waterproof, thats it, hopefully someone can help, thanks

What kind of chameleon is it? And how low is the temp. dropping?
Chameleons as a general rule can handle pretty good amounts of extreme temp fluctuation, especially in the way of night time drops.....
Actually worse on their system to get too hot.

actually i was talking about heat cable, i meant to write cable but i was so tired last night that i wrote tape, like is it okay for them to walk on that flexwatt cable that zoomed sells, i know they can handle a night time drop, but it gets too low, like 60's and i know that cant be good, so i was just wondering if that heat cable is safe to touch for them, thats all

Im guessing you have all the correct lighting it needs?. For addition heat you could use the reptile heat cables, you do pretty much anything with them.. I use them for my leo rack, love them..

ya i got uva and uvb lighting, and a heat emitter also, im just looking for a little extra heat, so if i wrap the cable around a branch in his cage and he climbs on them he wont get burned right??? just making sure before i buy them, i dont want him to get burned, because i know he'll climb on them if i put them in there
