:help:we are having a problem w/ bugs. i dont know if they are mites or ticks. they do seem to be sucking our baby bloods' blood. is there anything we can do or put on her to kill them. we have been picking them out of her scales for the last hour. her vent had a mite on the inside of the scale. it looks irratated , possibly infected. we soaked her in warm water for about 10 minutes and started picking them off.

PLEASE anyone w/ an idea or an answer. we have no clue where they came .
please HELP!!!

Nix, the head lice shampoo kills mites. I have used it (diluted in water in a spray bottle) to kill mites both in the cage and on the animal. I don't know whether or not it will kill ticks, but I assume so. What do these little buggers look like?

Sam (Juggalo) swears by listerine. Have you seen Jim's response to your other post yet?

thanx joel. i did get jim's response. this morning when i got up i checked her. now last night we got rid of her mulch and bleached everything in her tank, rocks, waterdish, house, tank,...we put newspaper in the bottom of her tank. now this morning i found her coverd in them again. i soaked her in a soapy water mix and they were dropping off of her.
we have her in a slate bottom fish tank, like the old style ones. those tanks heat up awsomely. we had that tank in the basement for a long time. i think they eithr came from that tank or the cyprus mulch.
i have her in a plastic tub w/ paper towels now. everythings white so i can see them.
im gonna bathe her again in a few hrs to see if anymore come off.

now she had some in and around her vent. it does look irritated, and a little dirty. what is a good thing to use on the vent to clean it a little??

thanx for the help guys.
