View Full Version : Burm poop holding syndrome
It is amazing after you have gone through this with one burm that when your second one does it you don't even get phased by it. I am rather enjoying it. Well, I was until last night when Suki could hold it any longer and the flood gates open and she put shame to my rottie's pile. She has a girlish figure back for now though.

I'd much rather have one huge pile. I get like 3-4 craps a week with my 'tics and it sucks. They aren't exactly small but..I'd much prefer they were all built up into one.

Really? Mine go once a week and some not even that. How often are you feeding them? How old are they? Most of mine are under two and the others are just shy of three. Maybe they haven't reach their full pooping potential yet?
Only my dear Meli could be so creative in a post about poop. :D ;) :)

I feed once, maybe twice a week if they are being annoying. My bigger female ( probably around 2 ) drops one about once a week, maybe twice if I'm "lucky". My yearling tiger on the other hand let's the dogs of war loose about every 3 days. It's terrible.

I know what you mean Dylan! Hahaha. My Retics poop 4 times as much as my Burmese, or Rock Pythons. My largest Burmese craps about once every 10-14 days. My largest Retic craps about 2 times a week. Lol.
Then again, I have Boas that eat weekly and only crap about every 6 weeks. Thats always fun. We have an Anery that we have had for 3 months and its crapped twice. Cant say I'm complaining. :)

After reading this, I don't feel so bad.... I was beginning to worry about my burm (male, approx 6 months old) because he will only go when I put him in the tub. I've heard of some people saying that their snakes do not "go" in the enclosure.... I'm glad to hear that this "syndrome" is common for some.

my 8 month old female burm only poops in the bath tub. i thought it was wierd but convienient to clean. but she hasn't gone poop in about 6-7 weeks, and she has been eating almost 2 sm rats a week, which her not pooping more often worries me. we put her in the tub w/ warm water tonight and she didnt poop at all. im sure she'll leave me a great big present when she's ready. lol
