Hello I am new here from Alaska. I have lost my snake in our fire place and I don't know how to get him out. Could someone give me some tips? Thanks so very much.

You could try setting out a bowl/tub of water to see if he will find it and soak in it.

You can also try leaving a prey item under a box or his hide, usually they will find it and eat it and hopefully stay inside the box.

You can also turn off all the lights and sit still in the room that he disappeared in. Sit somewhere near the light switch and every 10-15mins or so, flip on the lights and you might be able to find him crawling out where you can see him.

Oh and welcome to the forums!

When you find your bp, you'll have to post up some pics for us :)

Well I was letting him slither around and he was going torwards the fireplace (it wasn't on, thank God) I didn't know that there was a hole on it and I tried to grab him but if I pulled to hard I probably would have cut him in half. So I just him go. I told my husband where he went to and he lifted part of the fire place up and there he was on the floor cold. I was so scared and worried for him. But I was sure happy to see he was alright. (whew!!!) What a night.

It wasn't really all that dirty cause he wasn't in the place where the fire is, he was more at the bottom of the fire place. But he sure was cold and mad. I keep saying he cause I don't know if he is a she? LOL. I've only had him for like 6 months.

I'm glad you found him! Alaska does not sound like a place you want to lose a python at this time of year

Well living in Alaska is pretty boring theres really nothing to do around here. I was born and rasied in Kodiak and talk about boring!!!! And it's cold, so I can't wait till summer time, it will be a little bit warmer! I love having a snake it's pretty cool cause everyone that comes over, like my family are like "ewww gross" lol. I just laugh and say well at least he's not yours he's mine! They just think I'm weird. But I think I'm normal!! (Some what) LOL. Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone. It's sure nice meeting you all. I'm sure I'm gonna have lots more questions. You all seem very helpful which is great for someone that only knows a little. Thanks again!!!!

agreed. photobucket is the easiest way. once u load ur pics up on photobucket.com, you can just highlight the IMG code ( it will show you) and paste it in the thread starter screen.
welcome to our humble home!!

Thanks for the info. I figured it out but I guess I need to learn how to make the picture just a little bit smaller. I'll have to look around on there and play with the pictures a bit. But thanks again for your help.
