View Full Version : New Boelen's exhibit (OKC zoo)

My supervisor and I have been working on this exhibit for a little while and we finally got it finished and the boelen's placed in it yesterday so I thought I'd share. We have a big meeting at the zoo later this month where reptile curators from across the country will be coming to our zoo so we wanted to make a really nice exhibit. We are both pretty happy with it. Sorry I couldn't get a shot of the cage from a straight on point of view, the hallway wasn't wide enough, so I had to stand to the sides.

Awesome...thats how a snake of that stature should be housed!!

We went to the Houston Zoo on Sunday and they had a new Boelen's Python exhibit outside the reptile house. It wasn't as nice as your set up!

Sorry, I was being lazy and didn't take it. My husband asked me as soon as we got there were my camera was. They had so many new exhibits I wished I'd taken it.

They had one that was really weird. 2 cheetah cubs with 2 Anatolian shepards (the Butch dog from Cats and Dogs). I guess the dogs are good nursemaids.

Wow that's great to hear. That's quite a compliment. It's nice to hear that our exhibit is nicer than some of the other zoo's exhibits for them. We were just trying for the best exhibit we can create.

HAHAHA!!! Did he do his happy dance around you as well when Candace told him he could go there? You'd think it was an 8 year old getting permission to go to Disneyworld. And did he stare at you as you took your first bite to see your reaction? I nearly spit out my food on his face when I saw him staring at me! haha. Damn good food though! :hungry:
