I knew you'd like that one!! I just recently took them out of cooling and now they are in a much larger cage which makes it much easier to photograph the squirrelly son of a guns!!!

Thanks guys!!
Chuck - Just curious as to how large you seen the tricoloreds get? I've bred them in the past and I don't think any of the adults ever exceeded 18 inches. You've got me interested now!!

I saw a female at the arlington show in 2005 (this was way before the NARBC show there) But she was right at about 28 or 30 inches, and over 500 grams (the guy had a scale at the show) She had something like 17 eggs and he was selling some of her babies. Now he did say she was the biggest one he had and the biggest one he knew of, but said all of his averaged 24 inces or so for females and the males not that far behind somewhere around 18 inches. I have 3 western hognoses and they are all adults. None of them are that long, or that heavy by far. Just what I have seen, that dosn't mean they all will get like that one female. Not everyones retic is 23 feet long you know. I will have to see if I can find a pic of it on my old computer.

Thanks for the info Chuck!! I'm sure that was an amazing animal!!! Looks like the ones I've seen were more on the small side then...makes me like 'em more now!!
Thanks Michael and DJ!! This year will be my first attempt at breeding them. Don't know if they are mature yet but I cooled them and I'm gonna put 'em together and see what happens!!

The hatchlings of those are cool in their own right, but look nothing like the adults...LOL They actually look like little Vipers when they are young.
