okay, eventually id like to get a female albino red tail, i think they're so bad ass, and id eventually like to breed the male and the female, now i dont understand genetics at all, sorry for sounding stupid if i do, but what kind of babies should i expect from doing this???

No worries man! This is an easy one:
Albino is a simple recessive trait, so Breeding and Albino Female to a Male Normal Boa will yield an entire clutch of Normal Looking Boas that carry the trait for Albino, known in the hobby as 100% Hets for Albino.

damn, thats kind of disappointing, id really like to have some cool looking babies so i would be able to have an amazing snake without paying a ridiculous amount of money, because i dont have it, what kind of boa would i need to get to have something wild with the normal boa??? or is there a way???

Ive heard of people getting lucky norms het for albino but for the best chance of that remember lol you have to spend money to make money say start out with a good clutch of the hets sell than buy something you would like to see breed basically business with animals if money is the problem lol

LOL, well I'm sorry. Let's see.......
You could get a Hypo, that is a co-dominant trait so when bred to a normal you'll get 50% Hypos and 50% Normals.
Or you could buy 2 Hets for something like Albino, Snow(Actually is a Double Het for Anery and Albino), Anery, ect. But I'm guessing you are looking at just purchasing 1 more boa, not 2.

oh no dont be sorry, i wasnt bitching, i just thought that if i had an albino and a regular, that maybe some albinos would be born, so a hypo would produce half and half with my regular?? sweet thanks dude

LOL, no worries man.....most traits don't quite work that way. But yeah Hypos would do it for ya....hell if you get one of those Crazy Super Hypos you'll 100% Hypos Born from that pairing....would be pretty cool.

Blood boas are actually a combination of recessive genes and selective breeding, the line has been bred to bring out the Reds....I agree though beautiful boas!
~B~
P.S I looked up some more info on the Bloods for you. The Original line was selective bred from Ron St.Pierre.

so pretty much all the amazing really expensive boas are product of like years of selective breeding??? what kind of boa would you breed a regular with and what would it throw?? im trying to research the genetics thing, but it seems too confusing, know any websites that'd help any??? I also think the motley boas are some of the coolest looking boas

Well man I guarantee the further you delve into the world of genetics the more confusing it gets! LOL
Here's something that might get you started:

Ya know another I thought of, since you are looking at an albino anyway, how about a Sunglow? This is a product of Hypo and Albino gene smashed together....so if you bred a sunglow to a normal...granted you wouldn't get Sunglows, but you would get Hypos 100% het for Albino, it would be like having and Albino and being able to get something neat on the 1st breeding.

Nope that is one species I haven't had the chance to work yet, though there are quite a few people on here that have them, I would just post up a general question about them I'll sure you'll get plenty of responses.
Possibly may have some up for sale this year, my business isn't based on snake breeding, I prefer to do it as a hobby, I'm actually more of a collector, depending on what takes this year here's what may be available Surinames, Longicaudas, Indo Tree Boas, Bullsnakes, Axanthic Kings, Corns, slight chance of some Variable Kings....Male is kind of a poke on his growing so I may skip him this year. I also have some other projects going for Coral Albino Sunglow Boas, Pastels, and some other interesting stuff that I'm not at liberty to disclose at this point in time....LOL
But yeah snakes that are available are pretty sporatic, even when breeding I give them a year off in between so you won't see stuff up for sale there very often.
But I hear ya man.....I never have been able to get enough snakes...just ask my wife! LOL
