Ok so I was cleaning out the enclosures today and when I gotto Adriano's tub I was shocked. I have always used white water dishes for my snakes so that I can see anything in the water. and Today I found little worm like things. I have never had any problems with any insects or anything that is why I am so stumpped about this. I don't know what they could be. so I cleaned out his tub and ran listerine around in it and the water dish and then washed them with scolding hot water. I didn't understand it really the only place I saw them was in the water dish and on the lid of the tub right above the water dish. I didn't see them anywhere else. If anyone might know what these things are you help would be very appriciated. I asked Chuck already but he was confused too.

That is odd, your BP is it Captive Bred?

What did the little worm like thing look like? Color? Length? ect.

ok is is going to sound strange....but they kind of looked like maggots. but thinner. they were an off white color and about 1/4 inch long. but if they were that I would have thought that they would have been on poop. but since I clean out the cages weekly I wouldn't think that is what they actually are. And yes Adriano is captive bred he is my 100% het pied and I have had him since about Sept I guess and nothing like this ever before.

Hmmmmm, my best guess without actually seeing them.

Probably some insect laid eggs around that area and it was fluke. But keep an eye out...if they pop up in that same cage again, then your BP probably has some internal parasites, which is easily rectified with a dose or 2 of pancur. But like I said I'm guessing it's just a fluke (as in an odd-ball thing that isn't going to happen again).

Thanks Brad. I thought it was strange because they hadn't been there three days prior when I had fed him. but I will keep a watch out on it and make sure that they don't show up again.

I had the same thing happen to me but it was with a cat. I took the insect and the cat to my vet and she said that it was tape worms. The insects looked like just what you described.

I had our male BP breeder dewormed so that might be something you would want to try. I hope this helps you out some.
