Hey,

I bought my BCI Willamena August 11th 2007.... I was told she was (I did not know she was a she at the time) part of a pair that was brought into the shop where I bought her. Its been just about 7 months since I bought her and she has been doing very well. I have just been wondering if I bought more than one boa when I bought her. She is about to go into shed again, and she has grown large in her last third section that I was kinda concerned about. She pooped like last week so I am not too concerned about her being stopped up...... My real question is could I have purchased a gravid snake? If so it would be a real surprise!!!! Happy one as I have plenty of cages, lol..... Anyone that might know please comment......

Gestation for a boa is normally 4-5 months. Since you have had her longer then that she probably isn't gravid unless she did the hide the sperm trick lol. Is she showing any other signs of being gravid? Belly roll, tight coil on her heat, etc.

She has been coiling up over the heater under the tank..... She usually is on the other side..... I dunno....

Sound like it could be a possibility with her on the heat like that and the swelling. I didn't want to get your hopes up before but we had one drop 7 months after she mated.

Its all good.... I would love it actually.... I have a lot of cages and people I know that I have been getting interested in reptiles.... My Willamena is the boa I decided to keep. She is probably the most gentle snake I have ever handled..... If she had babies I would be ecstatic..... :)

While doing a little research I ran across someone who said their boa went 10 months after breeding.
