View Full Version : Confounded on how to put heat on T
Okay I started with a lamp but don't have one small enough. Then went to a piece of heat tape which was fine until the T burrowed to the bottom of the tank and decided to live there. So my question is how do you heat a T cage? Put the tape on the side? Heat a cabinet? Heat from above?

A heat pad on the side of the tank would work.
Heat the Cabinet? What cabinet? I'm interested because I'm getting an idear...LOL

Wow :p I wouldn't be able to tell you. I had an AP T10, with a radiant heat panel up top to keep the temps constant, and just put all of my invert containers stacked in there. :p

It's exactly what Andrew said only people will buy like a cabinet thing with a glass door and heat the entire thing with a bulb or panel and have shelves in it and put all the animals in it using one thermostat to control the entire thing. I have seen some that look pretty outstanding. Like awesome living furniture pieces.

You could do that, Meli :D You won't need a large heat panel, since you'll only be heating it to 80F. Just get the AP T10 with the basking shelf, and a small heat panel. Pick up a small Ranco, or Johnson thermostat, and a lock for the door, and your all set :) The basking shelf added will allow you to stack more tubs in it than you normally could. Just place the RHP in the center of the ceiling, on the cage, more towards the front. I held somewhere around 100 animals in a T10, so the size comes in great handy :)

Sounds like a good plan to me Meli.....much more efficant especially since you've been talking about more Ts already.
