That is extremely weird. Especially since we don't have advertising pop-ups or anything....hell I never get pop-ups even when I don't have the blocker on.
Out of curiousity what are the sites that are coming up?

Could be malware/spyware/virus acting up.
May want to run your virus scanner and a spyware scanner as well.
http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html - Free virus scanner, if you register your email with them, you can use their software for a year until you have to register again. Or I think they have a trial which is 60 days, trial still includes full functionality.
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Spybot_Search_and_Destroy/1043809773/1 - Free spyware/malware/keylogger scanner, no registration required for full functionality.
If you have neither of those, I suggest you get them both and install them. The virus scanner requires a reboot before it can finish it's full install and you have the option for it to run a virus scan before windows has a chance to load(do it) increasing the chance of eradicating the virus.

Jarret is right you need to run some kind of scan on your computer. Sounds like spy-ware/malware

I run Avast and spybot search and destroy. Just make sure you keep what ever you use up to date.

So, its just another completely separate window after you reply to a post?
So you end up with 2 windows that are exactly the same?

Factory settings? And my parents say I'm a geek at computers...It's not popping up anymore. I don't know if it's from the power going out an hour ago:confused:

Still sounds like spyware/malware, I would still advise on running the 2 programs that I mentioned.
At the very least, run Spybot Search & Destroy as viruses normally don't hijack browsers. But it wouldn't hurt to run Avast as well :)

Could be like Jarret said as well......but one quick way to check it out, just head to the Internet Options in the Control Panel, should be a tab on there that has a button that says "Reset Settings" should put everything back to original if something got messed up.

You can try resetting to factory settings.
If you are using IE:
1. Go to Tools in the menu bar
2. Click on Internet Options at the bottom
3. Click on the Advanced tab on the far right
4. At the bottom of the window will be a Reset... button
5. Click the button
It says it deletes temporary files and a few other items, not sure if it deletes cookies or not, if it does, then you will have to re-login to sites as the cookie that remembers your login information will not be available anymore.
If you are using FireFox:
1. Close Firefox
2. Start Firefox in Safe Mode, you can select Safe Mode under Start, Programs, Mozilla Folder
3. Select the Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults checkbox
4. Click the button, Make Changes and Restart
Also, did this just start happening recently? If so, have you recently installed any new addons/extensions? It is possible that that could be causing an issue, though highly unlikely.

Norton is a joke. Believe me. Also, if you do load another anti virus make sure you remove any old anti or it will screw up things big time. Im with everyone about the spyware/malware
