I am not sure whether or not I am going to breed Nacho again next year. I bred him to a female last year and she slugged out. I got 18 eggs from Roxy this year with 10 slugs.

Not sure how good these eggs are either. We'll see.:noidea:

Just make sure they get adequate moisture bro. They may have dried a tad until you got them from momma. But its much easier to save some from being dry than it is from being too wet, :D

Jim is right on it with that man to dry is bad but saveable but to wet as I learned last year is a bad thing..Good luck though Joel we have our fingers crossed for you here @ the Bearden house.

I took the vermiculite one fistful at a time and squeezed the water out of it before I put it into the tubs. Do you mist the eggs periodically? If so, how often?

In my haste and inexperience, I forgot to mark the tops of the eggs before I moved Roxy completely off of them. As I was removing her, she moved a few of the eggs. I know I've got the cluster right side up, but I am not sure about the others. I had the sharpie in my pocket the whole time.:der:

I'm pretty frustrated. I guess I can call it a learning experience. If I can hatch a few of these guys I will be fairly satisfied given the circumstances.

Bah...no reason to beat yourself up over it. It's all trial and error man....the big thing is to learn from it and move forward.....but never give up! LOL

Especially if you are just doing it for fun....not like your lively hood depends on those eggs hatching, why do you think my my business is geared towards the hooks? Because to me the snake keeping/breeding is just my funtime hobby, if I get some to go "fantastic" if not....there's always next year! LOL

I am definitely learning and as long as I can continue to learn without hurting or killing any animals I'll keep keeping on.

Sooooo...the wait has begun!:playball:

Hang in there Joel! From the pics they really don't look that bad. You are much better off letting them get a little too dry than too wet. The first clutch you incubate is always a little tricky trying to figure out what works. My first ever burm clutch had 42 good eggs in it and I didn't hatch out a single one. Although, it wasn't all my fault. :)

Oh and I'm not sure how important it is to mark the top of the eggs( although I do do it my self). I remember years ago this guy on kingsnake was turning his burm eggs over like chicken eggs, and he still had them hatch out....lol
