Good Camping

OK you guys, I'm am going to IHS this summer in TN. and the day after that I will be visiting St Louis.
But the question now is on the way back to Lubbock TX. I will have about 4 maybe 5 days, I would like to travel slowly back, camping and what not. Through Missouri maybe Arkansas I would like to find some good places to herp and camp and just all around beautiful views.

I grew up in MO its been a while but I am sure I'll be able to scrounge up some info. Southern Missouri, around the ozarks is a great place to search for snakes. Lots of copperheads, water moccasins, and some rattlers!
