This little one was 1 of 12 that was born in my neighbors garage.
I couldn't resist keeping at least one.

What type is that Loren? I'm not up to speed on venomous,lol. Neat for sure, along with the story.

Looks like it acclimated quite well,lol. :)

It's a Southern Pacific. It's acclimated really well. It doesn't mind the cage being opened and water being changed. It won't even move unless you get about 6" away.

HAHA... Me too!!!
It was a fluke thing. We have alot of reptiles about a mile away in the foothills but they don't usually travel down this far. I think this one's Mama got lost that day. I got her and her kids back up to the hills, but I couldn't resist keeping the runt

Is there no problem with keeping wild ones in your state? I tried to keep a wild Coastal Carpet once but my wife accidentally mentioned it to a woman who worked for the Parks and Wildlife Services. I had to release the snake ASAP.:fear:

Californian native species are legal to a certain extent. Everything outside of the state is illegal.

The law is basically that you're allowed to keep only two of each native CA venomous snake. They are not to be bred or sold but can be donated or gifted.

Completely lame if you ask me.
