Well, my daughter's green anole died today. She's pretty upset about it so we had to bury it. I dunno what happened. Then again, I'm not big on lizards. She was eating, active and drinking. Everything seemed fine. Yesterday I noticed her looking a little thin. Today she died. My daughter is yelling at me saying "do lizard cpr!". So yes, it was an odd afternoon.

Ahhhh bum deal.

Anoles actually aren't the easiest thing to keep going, they are usually wild caught, internal parasites can be an issue. They dehydrate quickly.....so many other things that can go wrong....usually you'll start out with a good half dozen and you'll get about a 1/4 of that to actually take and thrive.

My wife caught an anole that stowed away on a plant truck from florida, and naturally we had to keep it! It only lasted about 6 months, same thing eating, active, seemed great than boom dead.

Sorry to hear. Like Brad said it was probably full of parasites and who knows how old it was anyways. They usually don't live terribly long.

She's better about it tonight. Thank goodness. We reminded her that she still has her ball python, a cat or two, and a couple of rabbits and that soon we will get a puppy. Plus I have to share my horse with her. Lol! You'd think that'd keep her busy enough. But oh no, she says, she wants one more animal. Poor kid takes after me and not her daddy. LOL!!

I feel bad for your girl. Like Brad said, they look so simple to most people but they can be a little tough to get going in the right direction. So many I see in pet stores are pale and THIN. It's really sad to say but whenever I see them for sale there's always a tank with 2 that look great and 15 that look like theire on Death's door. I hope she takes it ok. It's never easy when a kid has to deal with losing a pet.

Ha! no more anoles here. I'd consider getting her another snake before I'd get her another lizard. Lol!
