hey everyone, If you all remeber a couple of months ago we took our crb duce to the vet for blemishing on his belly. well his blemishing on his belly has kind of gone away; but he has still not eaten. in the middle of june it will be a year since he last ate. we have tried everything youall have suggested and then some but he still wont eat. we tried force feeding him but he wont let us get the rat far enough in to were he can't refuse it. if any one has any more ideas PLEASE chime in . we are making an appointment at the vet for our retic we will probably take him in at the same time. thanks again for all your help everyone !!!!!

Well you guys really aren't having very good luck lately are you?

I have to ask again, because I have poorp memory what temps were you running on this little guy?

So odd that a young boa won't eat...they are usually pretty gluttonous.

he is 9 yrs old and temps are 82 86 during the day and 76 82 at night he has a heating pad on a controler set at 80 for the most part he acts normal but he has a roll of skin like he just lost a ton of weight.

the last timewe brought him to the vet he said he was fine and looked very health now he doesn't look so hot. we had got him last june from my father who bought him as a baby and never had any problems until we got him. he is in the same tank that he has been in for years and he's at the same temps he's been at for years as well. the last time he ate was just before we got him in june

thanks brad for your help and concern

Well I tell ya right now, your temps are too low.

Backround temp from 82 to 86 is fine, the nightime low is pushing it unless you are cycling for breeding? 78 (And they still have that 92F hotspot available if they need it) is about the lowest I let mine drop at night for normal maintenance. and the heat pad should be set between 90 and 95 (I usually shoot for 92).

I'm guessing with the lower than average temps you are running you've inadvertently got him going on a breeding cycle, bump everything up for a couple weeks betcha he starts going at it again.

Not a problem at all...always happy to do what I can.

thanks for your help we brought him to the vet today. the vet is having us treat him for worms because of the blood sample he got from him. I will definatly bump up his temps. he has been at those temps for about 8 1/2 yrs but i hope to better him so i bring temps up.

I have another question for you; about the price of a cage hook and shipping. just a basic hook nothing special.

thanks again
