ok well i fed all my snakes yesterday. and my kenyan sand boa i feed in a deli cup because i don't want the substrate to stick to the rat pink(they get wet when i thaw them out) well after he got done eating. he made a real mess with blood everywhere in the cup. when i went to put him in his cage he was drinking the blood just like he would water. i was wondering has any one had a snake do this? is there a reason he may be doing it?

Most always, snakes drink right after eating. It's blood to us, but it's a drink in the snakes eyes. It's weird, but I could see it happeneing.

Haven't seen it happen, but it may make sense. Being a desert dweller they rely on mostly moisture intake from thier prey.....old habits die hard...LOL
