Has anyone heard of a 60 some odd foot snake  that was found when a guy from the British Museum of Natural History was exploring Asia I believe. I tried looking it up but it only came up with a 37 ft snake. They have no photos of the 60 something only the account from the guy running the exploration and some drawing. Does any one see this being possible?
Oh, and I was watching Monster Quest so, IDK, it was on the History Channel.

There no evidence to support that claim....problem with those old stories is they are highly exagerative! There is an article in Reptiles Magazine of a Lady who actually has a skin from an Anaconda that is 30 some feet without the head and tail....to date this was thought to be largest accountable snake ever found.

However for some really good info. on the subject look for this book:

Tales of Giant Snakes
A historical and natural history of anacondas and pythons.

By: John C. Murphy & Robert W. Henderson

It has a lot of info. including some of the original accounts from the old days....very good read

Every bass I catch is 5lbs +! LOL

I'll have to check that book out, sounds interesting. I find it really hard to Belive an animal can make it much past 30'. I'd have to see hard evidence to believe it.

I'll see if I can find that issue of the magazine....but they pictures and the whole 9 yards. The skin was tanned but they said it wasn't stretched.

I've seen pics, and read an article about the animal you mention. I doubt the validity of any others, not the conda you mentioned.
