well, as you know i just got my first bp, and i've been researching and reading about them like crazy for about a year or so now, but i've never run into a caresheet that said what size to start them on, my guess was about a fuzzy mouse, so i went and bought some f/t fuzzies, im just trying to make sure thats good

they prey item should be no bigger around than the largest part of its body. It really depends on the size. However, my little bps just out of the egg take a mouse fuzz.

I was feeding him fuzzy rats. I haven't tried feeding f/t in years, so I don't know if that'll work with him. I can't imagine having to thaw out over 40 rodents per week.

I usually start my baby ball pythons on live fuzzy mice and let them eat that for about 2 weeks. Depending on what size they were when hatched, usually by their 3rd meal they are taking very small live adult mice. Once they get a good feeding pattern established, I generally try to switch to fresh kills. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

LOL I'm right about there myself & have the live feeders too (mostly the hatchlings). I started all my hatchlings on fuzzy rats this year, it's going great! The few left from the 1st two clutches are getting converted to Pk, then FT. Clutch #3 will have their first meal this week.

We're going to buy the frozen rats and mice one more time from Petco and if all the Balls still take the f/t then we're going to start buying the rats and mice (Isis is still on mice) from RodentPro. We could go in together on an order to save on some shipping if you are interested. We live in Katy but I work near W. Beltway/Little York and hubby works near Dairy Ashford/Memorial.

that'd be cool, but im so broke right now, and i only have 2 snakes and not so much storage, so i dont know how many f/t prey items id actually be able to keep
