now i offered live pinks.. left it in tank for about 2 hours.. not luck.. i dangled it over his head.. he bit me 5 times.. then he started getting aggressive.. biting me 10-15 times.. even when i held him.. so i flushed the pink down the toilet..
any suggestions? besides offering in a couple of days

How long have you had him?
Cage setup, temps, humidity?
#1- Don't handle him until he starts eating.

ya, just be patient a little longer. You got some time still before you need to worry. Just let him be and maybe try to keep the light low for a while

Yeah if he's that new...it's a little early to start flying off the handle...LOL J/K
Coolside is a bit low...I'd try for 84 and 90 to 95 on the hotside...this will get his metabolism going too.

Are you trying a mouse pinky? I would go with something bigger. Hatchlings can eat mouse hoppers with no problem. Definately let him settle in for several more days before you try again. Also, leave the mouse in overnight. Some only eat at night.

How little is this snake? I've read that a little snake in a big tank can be uneasy.

hatchling.. only ate a couple of times before i got him/her..
yeah i read that 2.. but i have a lot of things for it in there.. i heard that as long as i have places for the hatchling to hide it shouldnt be an issue..
I would definitely house it in something smaller. I just had some JCPs hatch and though they don't all eat yet, patience has been key. Each week another one eats. I'm with Blake on using something larger and leaving it in overnight. This has also worked for me. And leave it alone...don't handle it. Once it settles in well and starts eating, then you can handle it.

Maybe the cage is too big for him. I have my 4 ft coastal in a 30 gal and hes fine I tryed putting him in the 40 gal and it looks a little too big for him and hes allways curled up in a ball so I left him in the 30 gal.
Maybe you should wait a week, put more hides and things in their ( fake plants, maybe mulch, branches, so he can feel more secure ) then try again in a week, or put him in a smaller cage.
I started my carpet off in a 10 gal when I first got him and he never missed a meal.
