Not that I am expert on Chameleons by any means, but from my limited experience and what I've read...young Chameleons do benefit from extra calcium and multi-vitamin supplementation, which can be as simple as dusting the crickets.
This is also the simplest way of administering such supplementation as any other dosing would have to be manually administered, which could cause unneeded stress to it.

Dusting the crickets with calcium is the best bet

It's not just a good idea... with babies it's a must. You also need to make sure it's getting the right amount of uvb exposure for it to do what it's supposed to do. Wht type of chameleon is it?

I'll be honest and say that it doesn't sound good. The thing with chameleons is that they are so fragile and when they have health problems they escalate very quickly if not treated properly. It's really hard to say what the problem is and my suggestion would be t get it to a vet that specializes in reptiles or exotics. Sorry I couldnt help more.

Yeah I have to agree....that one reptile that when a problem arises you definitely want to get it to the vet. right quick....as Loren said they go downhill extremely quickly and are very hard to bring back once they are sliding down the slope.

my chamelion died a while back from hypervitaminosis or whatever, basically my gf gave him too any vitamins and too much calcium and he died because he couldnt process it quick enough, so id be careful how much calcium you give your cham

Which vitamins was your sister giving them?? The best in my opinion is made by Sticky Tongue Farms Minerall 1 *with D3*, works great every feeding to every other feeding. I have used reptical and other stuff but it was not as good as Minerall and you can get Minerall 0 or 1 from Beanfarm for $ 7.00 a can or even at Proexotics for 7 versus 9.00 from StickyTonguefarms.com or the worst 40 a can at some petstores!
