View Full Version : Kinda Excited, Thought I'd Share!

Well, today was feeding day once again, and I actually had a week where everybody ate! I didn't have one that was shedding and refusing food or one that just didn't have a reason other than "not hungry." ;) These weeks are kinda rare with 12 can-be-finicky ball pythons in the house. And the best part of it all: all 5 of the babies accepted their first pre-killed meals today! I had been feeding live just to get them established on feeding, and they took their pre-kills with very, very little hesitation. They acted like, "OK, smell, smell, yep it's food!" SNATCH! I couldn't be prouder of the little guys and girl! It did take about 3 weeks to get 3 of them started, but now that everyone's started, they seem to be excellent feeders! They take their meal every week now. I'll be almost sad to see them put up for sale on August 25th. :( They've been such good little hissers and strikers! ;) (Though they don't strike much any more; they've calmed down a lot since hatching. They still hiss a lot though! :p)

I love when you get them to PK, then FT. Babies are fun to raise up, but I love seeing them go to good homes too. Congrats on your guys!

That's great. We thought we had it all set the first time we fed everyone the FT then the last time we fed everyone Mr. Picky (Kaa - the pickiest ball of them all) decides he won't eat FT. Hopefully he'll get the hang of it since I plan to buy Frozen in bulk and save some money.

Thanks all! It really was great to see the little ones switch so readily. Last year I really had a time getting them to switch over; this year's babies grabbed them like pros! Now when I get ready to list them for sale, I can list them as "feeding on pre-killed small adult mice" instead of "feeding on live small adult mice." Any animal I can switch myself before it goes to someone who might or might not be able/willing to switch them, the better! ;)
